Year 5 attended a Samba Drumming workshop, which was held at Gt. Yarmouth Minster and hosted by Norfolk Music Service. The children had a great time and both learnt about, and played, a variety of instruments that are used in samba bands, such as: snare drums; tamborims (similar to tambourines, but without the jingles) and ganzas (a Brazilian shaker, similar to a Cuban maraca). By the end of the session, the children could play an orchestrated piece of samba music!
