Swim Safe Programme

Year 5, in conjunction with the Marina Centre, RNLI and Swim England, took part in the Swim Safe programme, which is aimed at children learning how to keep safe when swimming outdoors and knowing what to do if they get into trouble. Also, how to enter and exit the sea safely.

The session included a practical water safety session, which was held on Great Yarmouth beach, before the children progressed into swimming and floating in the sea.

Catarina stated – “I am really proud of myself as I was scared of going in the sea, but I managed to swim in it.”

Emilis exclaimed – “I did it – I swam in the sea! I know how to get in and out [of the sea] safely and without falling over.”

This was supported by the Marina Centre Swim Team, as well as RNLI Lifeguards, to whom we are extremely grateful.
