Girls from Years 3 and 4 have been taking part in a Norfolk Schools’ Football League, which was organised and hosted by Norwich City Football Club’s Community Programme. In the final competition of the season, our school’s team became the champions – go Priory!
At the end of the first round of matches, the team were sitting at the bottom of the league table. However, they persevered and in the second round of matches they improved and scored a couple of goals. This gave the girls some confidence for the final matches that would decide which team were to be the champions. Come match day, the nerves were jingling but the girls put on the performance of a lifetime, only conceding one goal and they became CHAMPIONS!!!
Piper proclaimed, “It was the best feeling ever! I’m so pleased that we kept going.”
Sharanithi stated, “We were really sad when the goal went in [during the final match], but we tried our best and ended up winning.”
Well done girls!!!
